The Professional Physical Therapist for Dogs Programme includes:
-Basics of Anatomy and Physiology
The build and function of the dog, bodily functions and processes are examined thoroughly. The skeleton, joints and muscles are taught in detail.
-Pathology
Common diseases and signs/symptoms of illness in dogs.
-Biomechanics
Movement and rehabilitation. The movement patterns of dogs are studied in depth.
-Genuin Svensk Massage
An efficient massage method that enables the therapist to reach deeper tissue. Includes stretching, palpation techniques and acupressure.
-Adequate Diagnosis
Always aim to provide the most correct diagnosis in cooperation with a veterinarian. This involves indicating the actual reason for a disturbed movement pattern and an objective prediction for improvement. You will be taught to detect the underlying problems that cause the visual symptoms.
-Electrotherapy, Biolight and Laser Treatment
Learn to make the most of the latest and most efficient alternative treatment methods on the market.
-Interpretation of Veterinary Diagnosis
You will learn to read, understand and explain veterinary statements and diagnoses.
-Enhancing the Fitness of the Dog
How to improve the physical fitness of the dog and how to evaluate the effect of your chosen treatment.
-Rehabilitation and Training
Providing an adequate and appropriate rehabilitation plan.
-Feed and Nutrition
What the dog needs, can benefit from etc.

Price 49 500SEK+tax. All students are eligible to apply for an instalment plan from UPH. The semester starts in August 2011.
