Physical Therapist Programme

An educational programme for those who want to become a professional physical therapist based on Genuin Svensk Massage treatment.

 

You will be studying part-time over 2 years (4 semesters), with 1350 hours of studying plus practical training. A total of 22 seminars is included, each lasting for 4 days. Between the seminars communication takes place on the website based forum.

 

Examinations are held and diplomas are distributed to successful students at the end of each unit. You will already be able to start practicing as a massage therapist at the end of year one, which facilitates the transition into your new profession. However, a final examination is not held until the end of the entire programme.

 

Seminars are held at UPH’s own, purpose-built facilities in Älvsered, Halland, Sweden. During seminars accommodation is arranged in the school. Practical tuition and study visits are specified on the curriculum.

We have 25 years of experience using and teaching the Genuine Svensk Massage-treatment method. You will share our experience with us. The effects achieved by our massage method are renowned across the world and former students are highly successful in their profession. In combined application with the latest alternative treatments such as electrotherapy, shockwave, biolight and laser, outstanding results can be observed. We provide a diverse and comprehensive education programme that will be suited for patients of all ages, physical fitness, or rehabilitation or preventive care situations, including top athletes.

Our former students are currently practicing around the world including in the USA, Italy, Australia and the Nordic Countries. Graduating from UPH, you will have the world at your feet.

 

Teaching takes place in groups of limited number to provide for individual guidance. This will result in only true professionals graduating from our institute.

Physical Therapist Programme Includes:

-Basics of Medical Science

The build and function of the human body, organs, processes and inner functions. The detailed construction of the skeleton, tendons, joints and musculature. Tuition is on the same level as for full-time students in physical therapy at other institutions.

-Pathology

Human diseases in the locomotive system, including signs and symptoms.

-Genuin Svensk Massage

An in depth and efficient massage method that not only reaches superficial tissue. Palpation techniques and acupressure is included.

-Electrotherapy, Shockwave, Biolight and Laser Treatment

Learn to manage the latest and most efficient complementary treatment methods.

-Interpretation of Physician’s/Physical Therapist’s Diagnosis

An insight into reading, understanding and explaining diagnoses and statements.

-Enhancing Physical Fitness

How to evaluate and improve fitness.

-Rehabilitation Care and Training

Providing adequate care during rehabilitation.

-Basics of Homeopathy

A well-known homeopathist shares her knowledge in the basics of homeopathy.
