Programme in TCM-Acupressure and Acupuncture Therapy

This programme will be initiated in spring 2011, and consists of a total of 1400 study hours. It is composed of 15 seminars, each lasting 2 days, spread out over approximately 15 months.

Mrs Iris Karlsson, who holds a teaching qualification and has been an active practitioner of acupuncture and acupressure therapy for more than 15 years, is responsible for the tuition. Among other things, she has practiced at local hospitals in China.

The programme involves:

The basics of TCM-philosophy - techniques, psychology, yin & yang, theory of the five elements, etc.

Meridians – a thorough study of all meridians, energies, effects etc.

Treatment methods-when, where and how to apply different treatments

Diagnosis - causes of sickness and lack of well-being

Locomotion Diagnosis - learn to see the body as a unified component

Advanced studies of meridians

Pulse diagnosis - reading the pulse and interpreting energy balance

Toung Diagnosis - identifying imbalances from the appearance of the toung
